Stirling Albion move into play-off places with win over Cowdenbeath

Stirling Albion climbed into the Ladbrokes League Two play-off places after ending a two-game losing run with a 1-0 win over Cowdenbeath.
Chances were few and far between in the opening half-hour as both sides struggled to get a foothold with David Cox and David Smith both firing wide from distance for the hosts.
Albion broke the deadlock in the 35th minute when the Blue Brazil failed to deal with a Peter MacDonald corner and Neil McLaughlin stabbed the ball home from close range.
Cowdenbeath had their best opportunity five minutes into the second half but Cammy Binnie tipped Brad Smith’s effort over the bar.
And Binnie again had to be alert to push away a Harvey Swann free-kick but Stirling held on for victory.
