Cristiano Ronaldo's sister has a message for those who doubted him

Sunday's 7-1 victory not only saw Real Madrid end their recent poor domestic run, it also provided us with one of the more iconic pictures of the season as a bloodied Cristiano Ronaldo checked his reflection, however the winger's sister has a message for those who have doubted him.

Katia Aveiro has been a vociferous supporter of her brother, often when he is coming under scrutiny.

Following his brace against Deportivo La Coruna, she took to Instagram to defend her brother after a kick to the face as he scored his second left him with a sizable gash.

"Many people in this world say words like 'goodbye', they want to see you down on the ground," she stated.

"But what makes you a CHAMPION. A VICTORY [sic] is the amount of body blows you receive.

"Yet you still continue standing."
