Falkirk finally win at home as they edge out Queen of the South

Falkirk finished 2017 with their first Scottish Championship home win of the season after beating Queen of the South 3-2.
The Bairns, second bottom in the standings and winless in their previous nine games in all competitions, took the lead in the 20th minute when Peter Grant fired into the roof of the net from a corner.
They then doubled their lead before half-time when Miles Hippolyte stabbed home before Louis Longridge made it three as the hosts scored twice in two minutes.
Prior to this game, Falkirk had only scored three goals in eight games at home and had not claimed a league victory at Falkirk Community Stadium, but all that changed against Queens, who found time to pull one back through Stephen Dobbie before the break.
Both sides had chances after half time but the second period did not live up to the opening action until Jason Kerr's stoppage time goal for the Doonhamers, which did not affect the final result.
