Struggling Yeovil dent Exeter's promotion bid with upset win

Relegation-threatened Yeovil upset the odds in Sky Bet League Two by beating promotion hopefuls Exeter 3-1 at Huish Park.
In a cagey first half Exeter's Lloyd James gifted the hosts the opener after 41 minutes with a misplaced pass across his own box straight to Jake Gray, who turned and placed his shot into the bottom corner.
The away side threw everything at their opponents as half-time drew closer but the Glovers put bodies on the line as Tom James made a last-ditch clearance to keep out a Jake Taylor effort and maintain his team's lead.
Just two minutes into the second half it was 2-0 to Yeovil when a James pass deflected kindly for Francois Zoko and from a tight angle the striker hit it across Christy Pym and into the far corner.
The Grecians thought the comeback was on when Jayden Stockley followed up a saved Taylor shot to make it 2-1 in the 85th minute, but just three minutes later Pym brought down Zoko in the box and Sam Surridge stepped up to convert the penalty.
