After seven-and-a-half seasons as Barcelona player, Javier Mascherano has reached an agreement with the club on his departure in the upcoming transfer window.
The two parties made a deal that will see the Argentina international depart to China for 10 million euros in the second half of January, after Samuel Umtiti has fully recovered from his injury.
The Catalan club have already scanned the market for a potential replacement and only paperwork details need to be settled to finalise the his official departure.
Mascherano isn't considered as part of Ernesto Valverde's plans, as the 33-year-old has merely managed ten appearances so far this season.
