The Juventus legend played as a midfielder until he was 12 years old

It's been a rollercoaster few weeks for Gianluigi Buffon.
The Italian great was forced to hang up his international boots (and gloves) prematurely after Italy were stunned in their World Cup play-off last week.
And, after missing Juventus' defeat to Sampdoria on Sunday because he wasn't emotionally stable enough to play, it's the small matter of Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Ahead of that mouthwatering clash in Turin, Buffon took part in an interview with Barca legend Andres Iniesta.
The 39-year-old was asked a number of intriguing questions, including if he had ever considered playing in another position.
Buffon wasn't always a goalkeeper
Buffon admits he played as a midfielder until he was 12 years old – but was inspired to become a goalkeeper after watching the 1990 World Cup.
He said: "The turning point was the 1990 World Cup in Italy and all the support was for Cameroon.
"One of their main men was the goalkeeper Thomas N'Kono and I wanted to emulate him.
"It was my father's advice and encouragement too.
"He'd watch me play a few times in goal and say: 'You're not bad at all!'"
Buffon senior wasn't far wrong.
