Jevani Brown inspired Cambridge to a comeback 2-1 victory against Chesterfield.
Trailing with 20 minutes remaining, the 23-year-old scored his first professional goal from a free-kick before his run and shot led to Uche Ikpeazu forcing in the winner with 12 minutes left.
The U's had enjoyed the better chances in the first half playing into a strong wind, with Jabo Ibehre blazing over from inside the box after being set up by Brown, who later shot wide on the turn following a corner.
Piero Mingoia also saw a 60-yard delivery deceive everyone and go in, only for it to be disallowed for a foul on goalkeeper Joe Anyon.
But bottom club Chesterfield took the lead 10 minutes into the second half when Kristian Dennis tapped home after good play on the left by Matt Briggs, who had just come on as a substitute.
But Brown then took over, first with a whipped free-kick which evaded Anyon and flew into the top corner.
And eight minutes later he showed superb skill to run infield and unleash a shot which was saved by Anyon, only for Ikpeazu to bundle the rebound home from close range.
