When Lionel Messi returned to Barcelona from international duty, he was greeted at the airport by his son Thiago who captured the hearts of those present.

Sporting a small bandage on his forehead, the youngster pulled funny faces and avoided being included in the shot as fans eagerly took quick selfies with his father.

He had more pressing concerns than that, garnering a laugh when he asked his father 'did you bring me a present?' from his trip to the other side of the Atlantic.
