Wigan ease to victory over Bristol Rovers

Wigan Athletic eased to a 3-0 victory over 10-man Bristol Rovers at the DW Stadium in a one-sided Sky Bet League One encounter.
The result was never really in doubt from the moment Rovers centre-back Ryan Sweeney was sent off on the half-hour mark for pulling down Michael Jacobs, and Nick Powell rifled home the resulting free-kick from 20 yards.
Will Grigg made it 2-0 four minutes into the second period - his first goal of the season - which was a far more accurate reflection of the game as a whole.
Wigan gave themselves a scare with 10 minutes to go when Lee Evans was adjudged to have handled a Tom Lockyer free-kick inside the home box but goalkeeper Jamie Jones dived to his right and kept out Ellis Harrison's penalty.
Gavin Massey added goal number three in the fifth added minute to underline Wigan's superiority.
