Liverpool vs Burnley, 9/16/2017 22:00 Saturday
Liverpool
After long years, Liverpool return to UEFA Champions League. Since this new season, Liverpool have a strong start to the campaign. But they were completely hammered 5-0 at Manchester City. Jurgen Klopp will lead them to bounce straight back with a home win at Anfield this time out.
Liverpool's home record so far is encouraging. They have kept unbeaten in all competitions this season, beating Arsenal 4-0, Crystal Palace 1-0, and drawing Sevilla 2-2.
Mane is suspended for the game while Philippe Coutinho made a substitute appearance against Sevilla, and he could start on Saturday. Besides, they strengthened the team with the arrivals of Salah, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Andrew Robertson. Daniel Sturridge should get his chance to shine here in this game. He's a different type of threat, and could be the perfect man to face Burnley.
Burnley
Burnley, meanwhile, have an excellent start this season.
They began by shocking defending Premier League champions Chelsea, beating the hosts 3-2. The 1-0 defeat at home to West Brom was a disappointing follow on, but since then they have won over Blackburn, snatched a 1-1 draw at Spurs, and grabbed 3 points against Crystal Palace. It is incredibly impressive, but it would be a tough task to maintain this record.
Overall home and away, Burnley have lost their last four outings against Liverpool in all competitions, during which they have failed to score any goal in each of those games.
Sean Dyche will be without center midfielder Dean Marney. The new forward Nahki Wells will be absent for this match due to injuries, so do the Goalkeeper Tom Heaton. It’s also worth looking at Chris Wood to find the net. He has scored in both of his Burnley appearances so far, which makes him a perfect choice for goal scorer.
Key Factors to Consider
Liverpool have won five of their last six meetings with Burnley, including winning all three at Anfield.
Clarets are not regarded as good travelers.
Odds
The AH opening line is -1.75 for the hosts, which is in favor of the home side. But the away side should not be underestimated as well. The Reds should earn our favor to win in this game but lose that in AH payout.
Conclusion
The hosts are the favourites. I anticipate a Liverpool win.
