Brechin battle back to earn a draw against Falkirk
Posted Sunday, September 10, 2017 by PA
Brechin scored against the run of play to snatch a 1-1 draw with Falkirk - and could even have won the game late on.
Brechin's Kalvin Orsi curled an early effort against the crossbar but it was Falkirk who took a 15th-minute lead when Alex Harris drilled home after good work by Rory Loy.
Loy and James Craigen went close to a second, while Nathan Austin squandered a good chance just before half-time as Falkirk dominated.
Harris continued to probe in the second half but the match was all square when Orsi provided the ball which dropped for Finn Graham to fire in a left-footed equaliser in the 72nd minute.
Aaron Muirhead's volley was the best of several late Falkirk efforts but it took a superb save from Robbie Thomson to deny Isaac Layne a stoppage-time winner for Brechin.
