First-half blitz helps Wycombe beat Forest Green

Wycombe Wanderers made the most of a first-half horror-show from Forest Green Rovers to defeat their opponents 3-1 and claim their first home win of the season.
The match was effectively over as a contest after 37 minutes, with Rovers picking up where they left off from their 5-1 thrashing at Colchester last week, as the Chairboys made it back-to-back league wins.
Wycombe went ahead in the seventh minute when Adebayo Akinfenwa knocked down a long ball and Paris Cowan-Hall swept past a static Sam Russell.
The dominant Chairboys then doubled their lead, with Anthony Stewart being given too much time and space to fire into the bottom corner from just inside the box.
Rovers continued to bear gifts, as Liam Noble senselessly gave the ball away to Akinfenwa, who rumbled through on goal only for Russell to parry his shot and give Luke O'Nien an easy tap-in.
Forest Green finally had something to cheer midway through the second half when Christian Doidge nodded into an empty net after his initial header from Luke James' cross had struck the post.
