Crewe hold Newport despite Perry Ng dismissal

Crewe dug deep to hold Newport to a 1-1 Sky Bet League Two draw despite playing more than 70 minutes with 10 men after defender Perry Ng was sent off.
The Exiles went ahead (13) when Frank Nouble finished from close range after Ben Garratt parried Joss Labadie's shot and the follow up from Shawn McCoulsky.
Crewe looked in trouble when Ng was dismissed (17) after picking up a second yellow card for a lunge on Ben White.
But the Railwaymen shrugged off the setback to level a minute later with George Cooper pulling the ball back for Chris Dagnall to flick home.
White went close with a header for the visitors, but at the other end Chris Porter should have made the most of Cooper's cross at the far post, but could only hit the post.
Nouble looked poised for his second soon after the restart, but Walker's last-ditch challenge thwarted the frontman.
Crewe were a threat despite their numerical disadvantage and Joe Day palmed away Dagnall's volley.
Sub Lamar Reynolds could have won it for Newport, but his far-post header was scrambled off the line.
