It went down to the wire, but in the end, Real Madrid emerged victorious at the Estadio Rosaleda, rendering Barcelona's win over Eibar worthless, and the Catalans were good sports about it in congratulating their fiercest rivals for their accomplishment.
Los Blancos first league campaign since 2012, it is their 33rd altogether.
"Congratulations to Real Madrid for winning the 2016/17 LaLiga title," Barcelona said on social media.
