Cameron James faces late fitness check as Colchester target play-off place

Colchester will assess hamstring injury victim Cameron James ahead of the visit of Yeovil as the U's hope to make it into the Sky Bet League Two play-offs.

Head coach John McGreal - whose side are 10th, but within two points of sixth place - must do without winger Brennan Dickenson because of the serious knee injury he suffered in training ahead of last weekend's 3-1 win over relegated Leyton Orient.

Striker Macauley Bonne is pressing for a place in the starting XI after coming off the bench to net the late third goal at the Matchroom Stadium, where the game finished behind close doors following a pitch invasion.

Forward Kurtis Guthrie continues his recovery following ankle surgery, while Sammie Szmodics (broken leg), midfielder Craig Slater (groin), defender Frankie Kent (ankle), forward Denny Johnstone (knee) and club captain Luke Prosser (knee) are all long-term absentees.

Yeovil, who are safe from the drop in 19th place, will be without Darren Ward, Kevin Dawson and Artur Krysiak for their trip to Essex.

Captain Darren Ward and midfielder Dawson (both knee) have failed to recover from injuries to feature in the penultimate fixtures of the campaign.

Meanwhile Polish goalkeeper Krysiak remains absent with an ankle injury which has kept him out of the squad for the last four games.

The Glovers are looking for their first win in three attempts.
