Stevenage Borough vs Mansfield Town - Matt Godden to miss out against Mansfield
Posted Thursday, April 20, 2017 by PA
Stevenage will take on Mansfield without top scorer Matt Godden after his season was ended by a broken toe.
The 21-goal striker was hurt in the Good Friday loss to Morecambe, with confirmation coming after Monday's draw with Carlisle that he will be sidelined for six weeks.
Kaylen Hinds started in Godden's place in the 1-1 draw at Brunton Park and will hope to keep his place.
Hinds was replaced in the final stages of the match by defender Dean Wells, who was making his first appearance since December.
Mansfield have no fresh injury worries as Steve Evans bids to keep his side's hopes of squeezing into the play-off places alive.
The Stags are just two points outside the top seven as they prepare for what appears a difficult trip south.
The manager said he had tweaked training this week in a bid to ensure his players had as much energy as possible on Saturday following the Easter fixtures.
Evans' main decision will be about the shape of his side, and the Scot revealed he was still considering whether to go with a flat back four or a back three.
