Morecambe vs Colchester United - Morecambe goalkeeper Barry Roche is a doubt for Colchester clash
Posted Sunday, April 16, 2017 by PA
Morecambe will assess goalkeeper Barry Roche but are perhaps unlikely to rush him back against Colchester.
Roche could return this season, more encouraging news than the initial prognosis on his wrist injury, after escaping the need for surgery.
However, Danijel Nizic excelled in his absence in Friday's surprise win over Stevenage and would be hard done by to lose his place regardless of Roche's availability.
Midfielder Alex Kenyon is available after a two-match ban.
Colchester will assess midfielder Tom Lapslie after he picked up minor groin and shoulder problems in the 1-1 draw against Doncaster.
Veteran Doug Loft made his long-awaited return from Achilles and calf injuries as a late substitute so should be in contention along with on-loan Huddersfield forward Rekeil Pyke.
Sammie Szmodics is out after suffering a broken leg, while leading scorer Kurtis Guthrie (ankle), midfielder Craig Slater (groin), defender Frankie Kent (ankle), forward Denny Johnstone (knee) and defender Luke Prosser (knee) are all long-term absentees.
Midfielder Owen Garvan saw his contract cancelled by mutual consent last week.
