Barnsley defender Gethin Jones is doubtful for the home game against derby rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

Jones has been struggling with illness this week and will be assessed by head coach Paul Heckingbottom.

Fellow defender Callum Elder (thigh) is still unavailable, while left-back Aidy White (pelvis) and midfielder Sessi D'Almeida (knee) remain long-term absentees.

The Reds, 11th in the table, are chasing their first league win in seven matches.

Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal will make late decisions on the fitness of Fernando Forestieri and Ross Wallace.

Forestieri has missed the last two games due to a knee injury and Wallace missed the recent home defeat to Reading.

Vincent Sasso sits out the second game of his three-match ban, but Sam Hutchinson (knee) and striker Gary Hooper (hamstring) are both back in contention.

Midfielder Kieran Lee (hip) is making progress but is still not available, while striker Sam Winnall is hoping to start on his first return to Oakwell since leaving Barnsley in January.
