Mansfield Town vs Carlisle - Mansfield wait for news on goalkeeper Jake Kean
Posted Friday, March 17, 2017 by PA
Mansfield will check on goalkeeper Jake Kean ahead of the visit of Carlisle.
Kean suffered a knee injury against Newport and has missed the last four matches, with the Stags failing to win in his absence. Should he be fit, the on-loan Sheffield Wednesday keeper will likely replace Scott Shearer between the posts.
Mansfield have failed to score in the last four games so manager Steve Evans may continue to shuffle his strike force in the hope of finding a partnership that can fire the goals to get their play-off challenge back on track.
Shaq Coulthirst, Yoann Arquin and Danny Rose will all hope to be recalled up front, while midfielder Alfie Potter and fit-again defender George Taft and Kyle Howkins are options elsewhere.
Carlisle boss Keith Curle is set to keep faith with striker Jamie Proctor as his side look for their first win in six Sky Bet League Two games.
Proctor is suffering from a stomach injury which required treatment at his parent club Bolton this week but Curle hopes he can be nursed through the remainder of the campaign.
James Bailey is suspended but Curle suggested several injured players could be fit to return on Saturday - although he refused to name them.
Jabo Ibehre (hamstring), Mike Jones (ankle), Jamie Devitt (thigh), Macauley Gillesphey (medial ligaments), Jason Kennedy (groin) and Michael Raynes (calf) all missed the midweek draw against Luton.
