Doncaster Rovers vs Accrington Stanley - Injury forces Jordan Houghton out of Doncaster
Posted Friday, February 24, 2017 by PA
Doncaster will be without midfielder Jordan Houghton for their home game against Accrington.
Houghton, on loan from Chelsea, has returned to his parent club to be assessed after sustaining a knee injury in last week's home draw against Luton. His replacement, Harry Middleton, could return to the starting line-up.
Defender Mathieu Baudry hopes to return to contention after missing out last week due to a muscle strain, while forward Gary McSheffrey (knee), who made his first appearance of the season last week, is likely to start on the bench again.
Manager Darren Ferguson must decide whether to hand Alfie May his first start after the striker stepped off the bench to score the equaliser against Luton. Forward Liam Mandeville is still out with an ankle injury.
The postponement of Accrington's game against Cambridge in midweek means they are no closer to getting any of their suspended players back.
Defender Omar Beckles was due to begin a three-match ban after the club decided not to appeal against his sending off against Colchester.
Fellow defender Janoi Donacien and midfielder Sean McConville were also due to sit out the Cambridge game.
Stanley were also still waiting for all the paperwork for the signing of Portuguese winger Erico Sousa to be completed.
