With Luis Enrique granting his Barcelona players two days rest, Lionel Messi took advantage of the break to visit Cairo and fulfil a contractual obligation that he previously had to postpone.
Along with his former teammate Dani Alves, now at Juventus, Messi has lent his name and image to the Tour N' Cure initiative, which fights against Hepatitis C.
He was scheduled to go to Egypt last December but was forced to reschedule due to a terrorist attack in the country.
Rearranged for last week, the Argentine again had to make a change in his itinerary following the defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
He finally managed to touch down in the Egyptian capital on Tuesday.
