Wayne Shaw's pie-eating under betting investigation
Reserve goalkeeper causes controversy

FA Cup minnows Sutton United made headlines for some of the wrong reasons on Monday, after their 2-0 defeat to Arsenal in the fifth round of the competition, due to reserve shot-stopper Wayne Shaw eating a pie on the bench during the second half.
The goalkeeper was given odds of 8/1 to consume the snack live on air during the match by some bookmakers, and he did so after Sutton had used their available substitutes, leading to a Gambling Commission investigation being launched into the incident - which could lead to a suspension for the player.
"They asked me before the game about it and I said that I hadn't eaten anything all day," Shaw explained post-match.
"Knowing this, I thought about having a joke, we already didn't have any other changes and we were losing 2-0," he explained.
All footballers in the UK are banned from betting on matches and although Shaw is not believed to have done so himself, the commission will look into the 'integrity' of the matter and the 'conduct' of the bookmaker in question.
"If you know Shaw, this wouldn't surprise you," the club reasoned.
"The fame has gone to his head a little, but soon we will come back down to earth."
