Grimsby Town vs Mansfield Town - Grimsby without Dom Vose for Mansfield clash

Posted Friday, February 17, 2017 by PA

Grimsby boss Marcus Bignot is still without thigh strain victim Dom Vose as the Mariners look to return to winning ways at home to Mansfield.

The Scunthorpe loanee has suffered persistent problems with the injury and a recent scan has revealed further damage that will keep him on the sidelines.

Luke Maxwell and James Berrett are set to come back into contention after missing out recently with groin and hip injuries respectively, but are not expected to start.

Bignot could reshuffle his front line after drawing a blank at bottom club Newport in midweek, with Adi Yussuf pushing for a return to the starting line-up.

James Baxendale could be back in the Mansfield squad but Kyle Howkins and George Taft will not.

Illness ruled out Baxendale against Accrington in midweek but the midfielder is expected to resume training on Friday, when a decision will be made about his involvement.

Defenders Howkins and Taft will definitely not travel. Howkins will remain at parent club West Brom, after playing for their under-23 team on Monday, while Taft is back in full training following injury but is not yet match fit.

Ashley Hemmings and Paddy Hoban have been overlooked recently and will hope to force their way back into the squad on Saturday.
