Bolton Wanderers vs Rochdale - Trotters to run rule over Long before date with Dale

Posted Monday, February 13, 2017 by PA

Bolton will assess Chris Long ahead of Tuesday's Sky Bet League One home clash with Rochdale.

The forward, who joined the Trotters on loan from Burnley last month, sustained a hamstring problem as well as scoring his first goal for the club as a substitute in Saturday's 4-1 win over Walsall.

Defender Lewis Buxton is nearing readiness for a return to action as he continues to work on his fitness, but will not feature this time.

Lawrie Wilson (hamstring), Darren Pratley (ankle) and Mark Davies (knee) remain in the treatment room for third-placed Bolton, whose victory at the weekend was their first of 2017.

Rochdale look set to have the same squad as they did for their last outing, Saturday's goalless draw at Fleetwood.

That contest saw Calvin Andrew back involved after a cheekbone injury as he came on at half-time, and the striker could return to the starting line-up on Tuesday.

Josh Lillis, Matty Lund, Steven Davies (all knee) and Joe Bunney (metatarsal fracture) are still sidelined.

Seventh-placed Dale are looking for a first win in five league matches.
