Zinedine Zidane is after a new goalkeeper to replace Keylor Navas
The Spanish giants are keen to land either David de Gea or Thibaut Courtois but face a struggle to get them from Manchester United and Chelsea.
But, according to the Sun, Madrid have begun clearing the way by offering Keylor Navas around.
It is reported that Navas has been offered to three Serie A clubs - Juventus, Roma and Lazio - as they prepare to bring in a new No.1.
Madrid tried to sign De Gea two summers ago but failed at the last minute after an administrative error.
De Gea's wife is from Madrid although he appears happy in Manchester under Jose Mourinho.
Courtois, who like De Gea used to play for Atletico Madrid, has to travel to and from the Spanish capital to see his family.
Courtois' wife and daughter still live in Madrid and he is understood to be keen on a move back at some point in his career.
Real Madrid have made Hugo Lloris, Gianluigi Donnarumma, and Benfica youngster Ederson Santana de Moraes their back ups should they fail to land De Gea or Courtois.
And their move to push Navas out appears to signal their intent on making a move for a new keeper before the summer gets into swing.
