Oxford United vs Milton Keynes Dons - Kane Hemmings and Conor McAleny in contention for Oxford

Posted Friday, February 10, 2017 by PA

Oxford forward duo Kane Hemmings and Conor McAleny are pushing for starts ahead of their Sky Bet League One clash against MK Dons.

Hemmings bagged a hat-trick during the U's Oxfordshire Senior Cup tie midweek and could feature in the starting line-up. Everton loanee McAleny also got on the scoresheet and will be hoping for his first start.

Defenders Christian Ribeiro and Sam Long, who also featured midweek, continue their recoveries from long-term injuries and will return to the matchday squad.

Fellow defenders Joe Skarz and Charlie Raglan are also pushing for starting places as Oxford search for their third consecutive league win.

Dons boss Robbie Neilson has hinted he may make more changes at the weekend.

The Scot rotated four players as his side won 1-0 at home to Oldham on Tuesday night but saw substitutes Harvey Barnes, Chuks Aneke and Nicky Maynard - who scored the winning goal deep into injury time - make a real impact following their introductions.

However, full-back George Baldock will be keener than most to keep his place in the team against his former loan club.

Captain Dean Lewington (ankle) and midfielder Ben Reeves (groin) have been out injured recently and they will be assessed.
