Scunthorpe United vs Shrewsbury Town - Scunthorpe's Neal Bishop gets green light to face Shrewsbury

Scunthorpe midfielder Neal Bishop will be free to line up against Shrewsbury after winning his appeal against the red card he was shown in last week's 3-1 defeat at Southend.

Manager Graham Alexander has no new injury concerns as the Iron look for a win which will keep them at least seven points clear of third-placed Bolton.

David Mirfin will be pushing to return to the starting line-up after shaking off a foot injury and appearing as a non-playing substitute at Roots Hall.

Conor Townsend is also available again but Jordan Clarke (ankle) and Paddy Madden (groin) are both expected to miss out once more.

On-loan striker Stefan Payne is out for Shrewsbury but his foot injury is not as bad as first feared.

The Barnsley forward limped off just 10 minutes into his debut against Bury last week and is definitely sidelined against Scunthorpe as Town assess the damage.

They feared he may have suffered a repeat of the metatarsal injury he picked up while at his parent club in August but those concerns have been eased.

Fellow forward AJ Leitch-Smith is continuing his return from a long-term knee problem and is not expected to be fit for another 10 days.
