Barnsley's new signings Ryan Hedges and Callum Elder are hoping to make their debuts for the club in the home game against Preston.
Winger Hedges, a permanent signing from Yeovil, and Australian defender Elder, on loan from Leicester, both arrived at Oakwell on transfer deadline day.
Another new signing, midfielder Alex Mowatt, starts a three-game ban after being sent off for a dangerous tackle on his debut in the midweek defeat to Wolves.
Defender Aidy White (pelvis) and winger Saidy Janko (thigh) both remain sidelined.
There are no new injury concerns for Preston - with only long-term absentees John Welsh, Calum Woods and Alex Baptiste still unavailable.
Welsh remains on the sidelines with calf trouble and Woods and Baptiste coth continue to struggle with their knee injuries.
Simon Grayson therefore has the option of sticking with the team which lost for the first time this year at Cardiff on Tuesday.
A second start for Tyias Browning at right-back, following his arrival on loan from Everton, could be a possibility.
