Port Vale vs Peterborough United - Danny Pugh and Leonardo Fasan pushing for Port Vale debuts

Posted Friday, February 03, 2017 by PA

Two new arrivals give Port Vale boss Michael Brown extra options for the visit of Peterborough.

Midfielder Danny Pugh and goalkeeper Leonardo Fasan both signed at the end of the transfer window.

Veteran Pugh ended his time at Blackpool after his contract was terminated by mutual consent, and 23-year-old Italian Fasan is on loan from Celtic until the end of the season - following Jak Alnwick's move up to Glasgow to join Rangers.

Sam Foley is nearing a first-team following an ankle injury but Nathan Smith (hamstring) is sidelined.

Peterborough travel to Vale Park without Michael Bostwick.

The 28-year-old broke his jaw in the 4-0 defeat to MK Dons last Saturday and is set for four weeks on the sidelines.

Deadline signings Craig Mackail-Smith and Anthony Grant, who joined from hosts Port Vale, are expected to jump straight into the team while Andrew Hughes is available after a leg injury.

Jermaine Anderson and Harry Anderson (both knee) remain long-term absentees.
