Queen of South 0 - 1 Hibernian FC: Hibernian extend lead at top of table after beating Queen of the South

John McGinn scored the only goal as Hibernian beat Queen of the South 1-0 to extend their lead at the top of the Ladbrokes Championship table.

The visitors came close to taking the lead in the 19th minute when James Keatings let fly from the edge of the area, but his effort just cleared the bar.

Hibs eventually broke the deadlock seven minutes after the interval when McGinn's strike was deflected into the back of Lee Robinson's net.

Joe Thomson almost pulled the hosts level less than two minutes later but Ross Laidlaw was on hand to parry his shot wide.

Hibernian held onto their one-goal lead to go eight points clear at the top of the table after Dundee United were held to a 1-1 draw by Dunfermline.
