Arsene Wenger has revealed that he expects Mesut Ozil to miss Arsenal's FA Cup third-round clash against Preston North End on Saturday due to illness.
The Germany playmaker has been sidelined with a bug in recent days and has not featured for Arsenal since their 1-0 win over West Brom at The Emirates in the Premier League on Boxing Day.
Ozil was once again unavailable for selection as Arsenal were held to a 3-3 draw by Bournemouth in the Premier League at the Vitality Stadium on Tuesday night.
Speaking before Tuesday night's thrilling draw against the Cherries, Wenger revealed that he had not seen Ozil in more than a week and that he was expecting the World Cup winner to miss the game against Preston this weekend.
Wenger told Sky Sports on Tuesday night: "I haven't seen [Ozil] for a week.
"It was an easy decision [to not include him]. He is still in bed.
"He's not available and I don't think he will be available for the next game as he hasn't done anything for a week."
