Bradford AFC vs Bury - Filipe Morais a doubt for Bradford

Posted Friday, December 30, 2016 by PA

Bradford winger Filipe Morais is an injury doubt for the home game against Bury.

Morais made his first league start since early October in the goalless Boxing Day draw against Scunthorpe, but was forced off midway through the second half due to a strain and will be assessed.

Boss Stuart McCall is still without striker Billy Clarke, who has been sidelined since November due to a calf injury.

Defender Tony McMahon came through the full 90 minutes against Scunthorpe unscathed after returning from a torn thigh muscle to make his first league appearance since August.

Bury's options are likely to be boosted after a number of players returned to training.

Ishmael Miller (hamstring), Andrew Tutte (illness), Leon Barnett (calf) and Zeli Ismail (knee) have all been back doing work at Carrington and are set to make their comebacks in the coming weeks, while Jacob Mellis returns from a suspension here and Neil Danns has just one more game to serve on his ban.

The Shakers played four teenagers in the Boxing Day draw at Fleetwood having rested top scorer James Vaughan (thigh), while Niall Maher pulled out of the line-up in the warm-up at Highbury.

Goalkeeper Rob Lainton is set to retain his spot between the sticks having made his first appearance in 14 months but Kean Bryan (thigh), Nathan Cameron and Chris Brown (both knee) are still out.
