Cheltenham Town vs Wycombe Wanderers - Gary Johnson hopeful of Cheltenham bug clearing
Posted Thursday, December 29, 2016 by PA
Cheltenham boss Gary Johnson is confident that a handful of players who have suffered colds over Christmas period will be able to face Wycombe.
Striker Dan Holman and midfielder James Dayton made injury returns off the bench in the 2-1 defeat by Barnet on Boxing Day and have reported no ill-effects so are available to start.
Asa Hall is still sidelined with a long-term Achilles injury and is expected to be ruled out until February.
Johnson is expecting to have at least three new faces in the squad for the trip to Colchester on Monday, but the transfer window arrivals will come too late for the Wycombe game.
Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth will be without Michael Harriman.
The right-back suffered a groin injury in the 3-3 draw at Plymouth on Boxing Day which means Sido Jombati is expected to come into the side to face his former club.
Paul Hayes (knee) has upped his training but is unlikely to feature and Dayle Southwell is continuing to rebuild his fitness.
The Wanderers' last game of 2016 also sees Ainsworth reach a milestone with the match being his 200th in charge of the club.
