Hartlepool vs Blackpool - James Martin ready to cook up a storm with Hartlepool

Defender James Martin will return to the Hartlepool squad for the Boxing Day clash with Blackpool at the Northern Gas and Power Stadium.

Martin missed the goalless Sky Bet League Two draw at Portsmouth last Saturday with a knee problem, but is available once again.

However, Rob Jones is still a doubt with his knee injury, while Carl Magnay (also knee) and Nathan Thomas (groin) remain on the sidelines.

Manager Craig Hignett will watch from the stands as he completes a two-game touchline ban after being sent from the dugout during the 4-0 FA Cup second-round defeat at Port Vale on December 4.

Gary Bowyer expects to have Brad Potts available for selection after the midfielder needed emergency dental surgery following the loss to Luton.

The former Carlisle man lost a tooth following an off-the-ball challenge, and suffered throughout the match following the clash.

Should Bowyer wish to make changes following the loss, Colin Daniel would be a candidate, having not been risked at the weekend despite a return to training.

Armand Gnanduillet is pushing for a recall up front, with Jamille Matt likely to make way.
