Newport vs Portsmouth - Sean Rigg set to return to forward line as Newport host Portsmouth

Bottom club Newport welcome back Sean Rigg for the Sky Bet League Two clash with Portsmouth.

Rigg has completed a three-game ban after being sent off in the FA Cup tie at Plymouth on December 3.

Newport lost the Rodney Parade replay on Wednesday night after extra time, and manager Graham Westley will assess the effects of that 120 minutes before finalising his side.

But Joss Labadie could miss out as a knee injury suffered in the closing stages was another blow in the midfielder's disrupted season.

Portsmouth striker Curtis Main is set to miss the busy festive period with an abdominal strain.

Main, who has been sidelined since October, is yet to train with the first-team and looks likely to return in the new year.

Defender Jack Whatmough is still recovering from a hamstring problem and remains unavailable.

Manager Paul Cook has stuck with the same XI for the last four games but is highly likely to make changes at Rodney Parade, where Kal Naismith may replace Gary Roberts and Conor Chaplin could return.
