Hibernian FC - Raith Rovers: Paul Hanlon proud of Hibernian progress

Hibernian defender Paul Hanlon feels he has come a long way after making 300 appearances for the club.

The centre-back celebrated that milestone at Morton last weekend and looks back fondly on the progress he has made.

The 26-year-old told Hibs TV: "It's great to reach that milestone. When I started out it's not something I ever thought about reaching. Looking back on all the games I have played, it's something to be proud of. I came through as a skinny 17-year-old and I've had to do a lot of work to get in the team, stay in the team and develop as a footballer."

The Ladbrokes Championship leaders host Raith Rovers on Saturday and Hanlon is braced for a difficult afternoon.

"Ever since we have been in this league Raith Rovers have always been a tough challenge, whether it's away at Stark's Park or at home," he said.

Dundee United host bottom club St Mirren, who have taken seven points from their past three games, and manager Ray McKinnon feels they will face a better team than the one which they beat 2-0 in October when Jack Ross took charge of his first Buddies game.

McKinnon told Arabzone: "I have always said they have a good squad there. They have a mix of youth and experience. We will need to be at our best to win the game.

"When we were down there last time, their team had a real boost with the new manager. We had to deal with that and we did but they gave everything for him.

"They have nothing to lose when they come here and it's another team that will come here and raise their game."

Meanwhile Ayr take on Dumbarton and Morton host Queen of the South.
