Bayern confirm imminent Green exit

FC Bayern München have announced that Julian Green will part ways with the club in January to begin a new chapter in his career at Stuttgart.
The United States international is set to join Die Schwaben on a two-and-a-half year deal when the mid-season transfer window opens after a lack of opportunities at the Allianz Arena.
Green came up through the youth ranks at Bayern and went on to make his first-team debut in November 2013. But just over three years later, he still hasn’t featured in the Bundesliga for the Bavarian giants and managed just four appearances in all competitions.
The 21-year-old forward, who spent the 2014/15 campaign on loan with league rivals Hamburg, played only twice in the DFB-Pokal for Carlo Ancelotti’s side during the first half of the season and leaves with a little more than six months remaining on his contract.
Green told the club’s official website: “I joined Bayern’s U-15s and like everyone dreamed of being a pro, and I’ve made it.
“I’ve gained a lot of experience over the last three years. It was good, I’m glad about it and thankful. I took my time and tried everything.
“It’s over for me now I’ve decided for Stuttgart. I’ll set myself new goals with Stuttgart, and I’m looking forward to this challenge, especially to supporting VfB in the second half of the season to achieve promotion.”
Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge added: “Julian wants to have a new experience at a club where he’ll be a first-team regular. It was tricky at FC Bayern due to a lot of competition.
“I wish Julian all the best for the future. He always was a hard-working, reliable and very likeable player for FC Bayern.”
