Sunday’s Eredivisie round-up

ADO Den Haag picked up an important three points as Excelsior held NEC and Heracles recorded a big win over PEC Zwolle and Ajax were held by fellow Eredivisie challengers PSV.

Stanley Elbers opened the scoring for Excelsior on 11 minutes in their 2-2 draw with NEC before a 41st-minute equaliser from Jay Grot.

Khalid Karami restored his team's lead after five second-half minutes, but Dario Dumic secured a share of the spoils in the 78th minute.

The result sees NEC move onto 19 points in 12th place, with Excelsior in 15th with 16 points.

Sheraldo Becker scored the only goal of the game in the 57th minute for ADO Den Haag in their 1-0 win over Sparta Rotterdam.

The hosts finished the weekend in 14th place with 17 points, as Rotterdam occupy 13th spot, also with 17 points.

Elsewhere, Heracles defeated PEC Zwolle 3-0 with goals from Samuel Armenteros (17' pen), Vincent Vermeij (78') and Daryl van Mieghem (81').

The home team moved onto 21 points in ninth place, while Zwolle are down in 16th with 14 points from their 17 games played.

Bottom club Go Ahead Eagles picked up a vital point as they held 10th-placed Groningen to a 1-1 draw, Jarchinio Antonai netting on 31 minutes to cancel out Mimoun Mahi's 20th-minute opener.

And Davy Klaassen scored on 48 minutes to give Ajax a lead over PSV, but Siem de Jong netted in the 80th minute to steal a point.

Ajax missed the opportunity to move to within three points of leaders Feyenoord, but they stayed three clear PSV in third.
