Caen 3 - 0 Metz: Caen too good for Metz and rise up the Ligue 1 table

Posted Monday, December 19, 2016 by PA

Caen climbed off bottom spot in Ligue 1 and out of the relegation zone with comfortable 3-0 win over 10-man Metz.

The hosts held a 1-0 lead at half-time thanks to Vincent Bessat's cross and Yann Karamoh's header in the 20th minute.

But the game pivoted for good when Milan Bisevac was shown a red card for violent conduct just before the hour mark.

Within three minutes of his dismissal Caen had doubled their advantage, Julien Feret feeding Ivan Santini, who beat Thomas Didillon from outside the area.

Pape Sane added the gloss in the third minute of injury-time, leaving the sides level on 18 points with Metz lagging by a margin of seven on goal difference.
