Doncaster Rovers vs Grimsby Town - Doncaster without suspended Coppinger as Grimsby visit

Doncaster will be without suspended skipper James Coppinger for the home game against Grimsby.

Coppinger was shown a straight red card for grabbing Plymouth goalkeeper Luke McCormick by the neck during last week's 2-0 defeat and starts a three-game ban.

Boss Darren Ferguson could opt to recall fit-again striker Andy Williams up front in Coppinger's absence alongside John Marquis and play Liam Mandeville in a deeper role.

Ferguson has no major new injury problems, but Gary McSheffrey (groin), Matty Lund (kidney), Luke McCullough and Aaron Taylor-Sinclair (both knee) are still out.

Defender Ben Davies could return for Grimsby after more than two months on the sidelines.

The 35-year-old is back in training after recovering from a calf injury while Dominic Vose could also return after sitting out last weekend's defeat against Portsmouth with a thigh problem.

The only definite absentee is Sean McAllister, whose groin injury has kept him sidelined since August.

After a bright start under new boss Marcus Bignot, Grimsby have gone three games without a win, losing successive matches to Crawley and Portsmouth.
