Shrewsbury Town vs Bristol Rovers - Ivan Toney banned for Shrewsbury's encounter with Bristol Rovers

Shrewsbury's joint top scorer Ivan Toney is suspended for the visit of Bristol Rovers.

The on-loan Newcastle was booked for the 10th time this season in the midweek FA Cup exit at Fleetwood and serves a two-match ban, as does midfielder Gary Deegan for a similar reason.

With AJ Leitch-Smith still some way from recovering from a persistent knee problem it gives manager Paul Hurst an issue up front.

Captain Adam El-Abd is also suspended after a red card at Fleetwood, which creates more defensive worries with Ryan McGivern out for a few weeks with a shoulder injury.

Bristol Rovers boss Darrell Clarke will be without the services of defender Connor Roberts after choosing to end his loan spell early.

Roberts returned to Swansea after making just five appearances for Rovers, with the last league appearance coming in October.

Meanwhile Alfie Kilgour is set to miss the remainder of the season after having surgery on cruciate ligament and hamstring injuries suffered in the GFA Challenge Cup.

Kelly Roos was dropped to the bench against Bury following a string of poor performances, and Will Puddy looks likely to retain his place in goal following the 4-2 win.
