Bristol City vs Brentford - Gary O'Neil should return to boost Bristol City

Posted Tuesday, December 13, 2016 by PA

Bristol City expect to have Gary O'Neil available to face Brentford at Ashton Gate.

The midfielder had been carrying a toe problem, so started Saturday's defeat at Huddersfield on the bench.

Swedish defender Joel Ekstrand has been troubled by knee and ankle problems and continues to be assessed.

Young striker Paul Arnold Garita has seen his loan spell at Plymouth cut short by a knee injury.

Brentford boss Dean Smith must decide whether to tinker with a winning side after ending a four-match losing streak with a 2-1 victory over Burton.

Defender Andreas Bjelland and midfielder Josh McEachran both started against the Brewers.

Midfielder Alan McCormack is available having recently completed a five-match suspension.

Defenders Callum Elder (calf) and Rico Henry (shoulder) continue their recoveries along with midfielders Lewis Macleod (knee) and Alan Judge (broken leg).
