Sitting three points behind leaders Chelsea, Arsenal are in a very strong position to challenge for the Premier League this season.
The Gunners are shaping up as one of the genuine contenders having spent considerably less on summer transfers than the likes of the Manchester clubs and Chelsea.
However, while their season is on track for the time being, the north London club could do with a couple of January signings to strengthen their squad for the remainder of the campaign.
Having only recently forked out close to £100 million on luring Granit Xhaka, Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez to the Emirates, a big-name signing is unlikely until next summer.
But that's not to say Arsenal won't be pulling off any impressive deals in the meantime, and one player could be set to seal a move in the coming weeks.
Riechedly Bazoer is a name most football fans will be familiar with considering the glamorous list of clubs who have expressed an interest in signing him during recent reasons.
The Dutch midfielder has caught the attention of several leading European clubs, and Ajax manager Peter Bosz has confirmed the player is in the “final phase" of completing a January transfer.
"Riechedly and I had a good conversation on Saturday afternoon," Bosz told the club website, as per the Mirror.
"He reported that his transfer is in the final phase - and I also understand this from Marc [Overmars, director of football].
"He has a view to a new club, which is why we gave him freedom from training to work with players who are focused on our next opponent.
"We shook hands and parted in a good way."
Arsenal, Barcelona, Wolfsburg and a handful of Series A clubs have been strongly linked with the 20-year-old, who made his senior debut for Ajax in 2013.
With his powerful physique, composure in possession and defensive prowess, Bazoer has all the qualities to be a success in the Premier League.
Only time will tell whether he chooses Arsenal over other clubs among his extensive list of admirers, but he will be a sound investment for whoever manages to snap him up.
