St. Mirren 1 - 0 Raith Rovers: St Mirren end long wait for home league win

Posted Sunday, December 11, 2016 by PA

St Mirren finally notched their first home win of the season with a 1-0 win over Raith at Paisley 2021 Stadium.

After recording their first win of the season anywhere earlier this week, it looked like being a return to usual frustrations for the hosts when Ben Gordon had to go off injured after just 18 minutes.

They almost took the lead shortly after as Kyle Magennis burst into the box before firing a cross out of John Sutton's reach.

That was as close as either side came before the interval.

But Lewis Morgan gave the Buddies' long-suffering fans something to shout about by scoring only their fourth goal at home this season after 47 minutes to clinch the victory.
