Bristol Rovers vs Bury - Bristol Rovers waiting on fitness of striker Matty Taylor

Bristol Rovers are hopeful top scorer Matty Taylor will be back for the Sky Bet League One home clash with Bury.

The 15-goal striker missed the shock 2-1 FA Cup defeat to National League side Barrow last weekend after failing a pre-match fitness test, and on-loan Peterborough forward Luke Clarke was preferred to Ellis Harrison and Jermaine Easter in Taylor's absence.

Full-back Daniel Leadbitter will continue to play with a protective strapping after breaking a bone in his hand as stuttering Rovers seek to improve on a dismal run of one win in eight games.

Billy Bodin has started only five league games this season, but the Wales Under-21 winger strengthened his case for a recall with an impressive scoring display in a Gloucestershire FA Cup tie in midweek.

Bury caretaker manager Chris Brass may have to give a start to 16-year-old Jacob Bedeau as he faces a defensive crisis.

Captain Antony Kay is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card against Millwall last weekend while Niall Maher must also sit out one match following his dismissal in the defeat by the Lions.

The club's only other senior defender, Leon Barnett, is doubtful due to a calf strain, leaving Brass with potentially little option but to turn to teenager Bedeau, who made his debut off the bench last weekend.

Bury, who have lost their last 10 league matches and are without a win in 14 in all competitions, will also be without midfielder Jacob Mellis through suspension.
