Plymouth Argyle vs Doncaster Rovers - Andy Williams hopes to keep Doncaster starting spot
Posted Friday, December 09, 2016 by PA
Doncaster boss Darren Ferguson must decide whether to retain striker Andy Williams in his starting line-up for the visit of Swindon.
Williams scored in his first start since early October in the midweek Checkatrade Trophy defeat to Blackpool after an ankle injury, but Ferguson could recall Liam Mandeville, who has scored six goals in his last seven games.
Defenders Craig Alcock and Andy Butler, midfielders Matty Blair and Tommy Rowe and winger James Coppinger are all expected to return to the side after sitting out the Blackpool game.
Ferguson has no major new injury concerns but Luke McCullough, Aaron Taylor-Sinclair (both knee), Gary McSheffrey (groin) and Matty Lund (kidney) remain sidelined.
Plymouth striker Jordan Slew is back from suspension as the Pligrims look to end a run of three successive defeats against Doncaster.
The 24-year-old served a one-match ban following his red card against Morecambe but will return for Derek Adams' side who have only scored one goal in three games
Jimmy Spencer (ankle) and Paul Arnold Garita (knee) will likely remain sidelined until the new year.
David Ijaha, Gary Sawyer and Ryan Brunt are long-term absentees.
