Cheltenham Town vs Exeter City - Dan Holman still missing for Cheltenham

Posted Thursday, December 08, 2016 by PA

Cheltenham will be without Dan Holman for the visit of Exeter.

The striker is likely to be out until January with the ankle injury he suffered against Cambridge a fortnight ago.

Defender Asa Hall remains sidelined after undergoing surgery on his Achilles.

Captain Aaron Downes could return to the starting line-up after dropping to the bench for last week's FA Cup defeat by non-League Sutton.

Exeter have defensive issues to address as they return to action after a two-week break.

Pierce Sweeney has been ruled out until January with an ankle injury suffered against Luton two weeks ago, while the on-loan Luke Croll has returned to Crystal Palace for treatment over an ongoing concussion issue.

With Tom McCready and Troy Archibald-Henville still sidelined by long-term problems, 16-year-old Ethan Ampadu - Wales' young player of the year - could feature in central defence.

There is better news on Ryan Harley and Jordan Tillson who have stepped up their recovery programmes in training, but striker Robbie Simpson seems set to miss out with an Achilles problem which has troubled him in recent weeks.
