Hartlepool United FC vs Cambridge United - Defender Scott Harrison to return for Hartlepool after ban for Cambridge visit

Posted Thursday, December 08, 2016 by PA

Struggling Hartlepool welcome back Scott Harrison but expect to be without Rob Jones for the visit of Cambridge.

Harrison served a one-game ban during the 4-0 FA Cup loss at Port Vale and should slot back into defence.

Jones was carried off on a stretcher in that match and is set to sit out the game.

Liam Donnelly, Carl Magnay (both knee) and Nathan Thomas (groin) are already on the treatment table.

Cambridge will be hoping to have midfielder Conor Newton available for the trip north.

The Newcastle-born 25-year-old has been missing with a hamstring problem but is in contention for the U's this time around.

Boss Shaun Derry made a number of changes for their 1-0 Checkatrade Trophy defeat at Bradford and is likely to bring back a host of first-team regulars as they look to move into the top-half of the table.

Josh Coulson (ankle) and Medy Elito (knee) are long-term absentees for Cambridge.
