Millwall vs Braintree Town - Millwall striker Lee Gregory fighting to get in contention for Braintee match

Millwall striker Lee Gregory could return to action in Sunday's FA Cup second round clash with Braintree.

Gregory has missed the League One Lions' last two games with a back problem, but was expected to train on Friday and Saturday to put himself into contention for selection.

Defender Sid Nelson played an hour for the Under-23s in midweek after a thigh problem and could also be involved, although Wednesday night's Checkatrade Trophy clash with Wycombe would also provide an opportunity to ease him back into action.

But striker Steve Morison remains on the sidelines with a knee injury, as does defender Shaun Hutchinson as he battles a hamstring strain.

Vanarama National League side Braintree will have forward Monty Patterson available.

The 19-year-old New Zealand international, who scored in the 7-0 first round win over Eastbourne Borough, has extended his loan spell from Sky Bet Championship side Ipswich until the end of the year.

The Iron had their midweek league match at Boreham Wood postponed because of a frozen pitch.

Manager Hakan Hayrettin could keep faith with the side which secured a 5-4 victory at Stockport in their last match, when new signing Manny Parry having scored on his debut. Centre-back Jon Ashton (calf) continues to be assessed.
