Klopp confirms Liverpool FC plans to offload Sakho

Liverpool will redouble their efforts to offload Mamadou Sakho in January, with Jurgen Klopp confirming the defender is not part of his first-team squad.

Sakho has not made a senior appearance for the Reds this season after being expelled from the club's pre-season tour of America for breaking club rules.

He was advised to pursue a loan deal in order to regain a starting place but turned down offers from a host of clubs both in England and overseas.

Since refusing, Sakho has been training with Liverpool's under-23 side but attended a Victoria's Secret fashion show in his native Paris earlier this week.

The France international's relationship with Anfield officials was further weakened by rallying against his exile during an early-morning outburst on Snapchat.

Klopp has insisted that there is no inclination to part with any of his current squad amid speculation surrounding a number of high-profile figures.

However the Liverpool manager affirmed that Sakho, who still has four years remaining on his current deal at the club, is not considered part of his plans.

He said: "Now you know, I said it: he is not in these plans for the first team.

"The first-team squad is here [at the training ground]. Do you really think I would have said Sakho will not be sold in winter? Nothing changed.

"Once again this actual first-team squad is in this dressing room, from this point of view nobody will be sold."

A number of potential suitors for Sakho in the January transfer window have emerged but he is said to have already turned down several clubs.

They include West Brom, who previously pursued a loan deal, and 'serious' offers from Turkish giants Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.
